Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about aesthetic treatments offered at our New Berlin, WI medical spa.
1. What is Aurea Medical Aesthetics’ touch up policy?
We believe great results come from great plans—and we stand by both. If you proceed with our recommended treatment plan and your aesthetic goals are not fully achieved, we are happy to provide a complimentary touch-up to help refine your results. Touch-ups must be scheduled between 14 and 30 days following your initial treatment.
2. Do I need a consultation before treatment?
Yes. All new clients begin with a comprehensive consultation and skin assessment. This allows us to evaluate your skin, discuss your goals, and create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your anatomy and aesthetic vision.
3. Are treatments safe?
Absolutely. All of our procedures are performed by qualified medical professionals using FDA-approved products and clinically proven techniques. Safety, sterility, and client comfort are our highest priorities.
4. What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit includes a thorough consultation, medical history review, and treatment planning. If appropriate, some treatments can be performed the same day. We’ll walk you through what to expect before, during, and after your procedure.
5. Do injectable treatments hurt?
Most patients describe the sensation as a quick pinch or mild pressure. We use ultra-fine needles and advanced techniques to ensure comfort, and topical numbing agents are applied.
6. How long do neurotoxins and fillers last?
Neurotoxins (like Botox® or Dysport®) typically last 3–4 months.
Dermal fillers can last 6–18 months, depending on the product and treatment area. Your provider will help you choose the right products for your desired results and longevity.
7. What is the downtime after treatment?
Most treatments have little to no downtime. You may experience mild redness, swelling, or tenderness for a short period, which typically resolves within a few days. Detailed aftercare instructions are always provided to ensure optimal healing. For more information on downtime, please look at the specific treatment page under services.
8. How soon will I see results?
Some results, like fillers, are visible immediately. Others, such as neurotoxins or collagen-stimulating treatments like Sculptra® or microneedling, develop gradually over several days to weeks as the body naturally regenerates collagen. For more information on results, please look at the specific treatment page under services.
9. How often should I schedule treatments?
This depends on your treatment type and goals. Many clients visit every 3–4 months for neurotoxins, 6–12 months for fillers, and 4–6 weeks for skin treatments like microneedling or peels. During your consultation, we’ll create a personalized maintenance plan to keep your results consistent and natural.
10. What makes Aurea Medical Aesthetics different?
We take a medical, artistic, and individualized approach to aesthetics. Every treatment is guided by medical expertise and an eye for balance and harmony. Our goal is to enhance your natural beauty—not change it—so you leave looking refreshed, confident, and authentically you. Check out our before and after pages for examples.
11. Can I tip if I feel that I have received exceptional treatment?
Angela’s goal is to provide the best quality service for her clients, and as such believes in open and honest pricing, and not accepting Tips. However, if you feel that you have received exceptional treatment, leaving a review expressing that satisfaction is the best tip you can give her and she won’t turn it down! Her review link is here.
12. How do I prepare for my appointment?
Avoid alcohol, blood thinners, or anti-inflammatory medications 24–48 hours before most injectable treatments, unless prescribed by your physician. Come with clean skin and no makeup if possible. We’ll review all pre-treatment instructions beforehand.
13. What if I’m nervous or new to aesthetic treatments?
That’s completely normal! Our provider will walk you through every step, answer all your questions, and ensure you feel comfortable and confident before starting. Many first-time clients are surprised by how natural and effortless the experience feels..
14. Why is Dysport priced so much lower than the other Neurotoxins?
Dyport from the manufacturer comes in 300 unit vials, versus the normal 100 unit vials of other toxins (Botox or Jeuveau). Usually, most patients require a dosing of 3 to 1 to achieve desired results compared to other neurotoxins. For comparison, it is a good idea to multiply the current per unit cost by three when comparing to the other neurotoxins cost.
15. How do I decide between Botox-Dysport-Jeuveau?
Great Questions. During your consultation, Angie will review the types of Neurotoxins on hand, the different qualities of each, and the expected cost. Then you can decide which one is right for you.
16. Can I use my rewards with a special or regular price treatment?
Yes, you can use any eligible rewards with our regular or monthly special prices; we are enrolled as a provider with all the brands that we carry. Please remind Angie at checkout if she forgets to give you your rewards.
